                 Troy Baseball On-The-Road Clinic Attracts
                       Players from Southeast Alabama

Thirty-seven youth baseball and softball players from across southeast Alabama spent a Sunday afternoon honing their hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching skills as the staff of Troy Baseball held their first On-the-Road clinic at Heflin Smith’s Ballfields in Kinston. “Players and parents from Kinston and surrounding areas have shown increased interest in private and group instruction at our Troy training center, so we decided to bring our training program to this location where a greater number could be served,” commented Ron Pierce, Owner of Troy Baseball.  “It’s exciting to see the level of enthusiasm and the progress these young players are making as they apply the techniques they’re learning in our sessions.”  During the four hour session, almost half of the time was devoted to hitting instruction, and the remaining time was spent practicing defensive drills. Pierce and his staff of former college and/or professional players, addressed player and parent concerns, taught drills each player could utilize individually, and stressed the importance of development of basic baseball and softball fundamentals in order to improve one’s ability to excel in their sports.

As one parent stated “The girls were excited about the opportunity to meet and be trained by a previous college softball player.  She was able to take actual game experiences and incorporate it into her training which made for a fun experience for the girls attending.  The girls were taught the importance of proper warm up and stretching before practicing and playing.  They were also taught proper hitting and defensive techniques and the instructor stressed the importance of practicing to master these techniques.”

Pierce, the inventor of the patented, Multi-Tee swing trainer, uses his unique batting tee extensively in training youth players and each clinic participant received their own Multi-Tee and instructional video to use at home.  “The clinic provided excellent hands-on experience for our young players. The guidance and suggestions from the instructors, especially involving long-term drills they can work on, will definitely be a big help in our ongoing training,” said Bruce Nelson, parent.  “The kids were excited about everything they learned and can’t wait to get to work with their Multi-Tee – it’s going to be a great training aid for them.”

             Using the Multi-Tee
              with plastic balls!

Don’t have a net, or don’t have much yard; this is no reason why you can’t work on your swing!  Just go out and buy some plastic balls and use them with the Multi-Tee to improve your swing.  By using plastic balls, you can use them in a small area like your garage or yard.  These balls won’t travel as far as regular baseballs, or softballs and won’t do any damage if they hit the wall or a tree.  The end result will be the same as using hard baseballs or softballs, you will be working on muscle memory which is a key factor in improving your swing.  Please go to www.multi-tee.com and click on the bottom video to see how well this works out.  Please let me know if you have any questions on how to make this work for you.

What is Multi-Tee?

Ron Pierce, Owner of Troy Baseball, MVP Training Center in Troy, Alabama is proud to announce the award of Patent # 7479074 for the Multi-Tee® batting tee he designed and began distributing in 2006. “Since the inception of this unique swing trainer, I knew that it could provide an effective means to train young ballplayers in a manner that was not being used elsewhere. The Multi-Tee® is the result of years of experimenting with a wood-and-PVC-pipe prototype that I eventually had manufactured to sell to a larger market,” commented developer Ron Pierce.  The Multi-Tee® offers the immediate opportunity to evaluate a batter’s swing and make the necessary corrections. Its fully adjustable, 360º swing arm and full tee extensions make the Multi-Tee® easy to set up and use with either right- or left-handed batters. This dynamic and effective hitting tool offers a unique double-tee design

Previously, most batting tees have used only one upright tee–some of which could be moved to different locations on the plate. These batting tees can actually limit the true hitting location of pitches. The majority of amateur baseball and softball players have not been taught the correct position of ball and bat contact for pitches in the three standard hitting zones: inside, middle and outside (see diagrams below). When using the Multi-Tee® in the correct manner, the swing arm can be easily rotated to the proper position for bat and ball contact. This is why the Multi-Tee® will be especially useful to those who don’t fully understand basic hitting techniques. Not only can this training device be set up to hit a ball in the three primary positions, it may also be set up anywhere between these positions, thus creating dozens of hitting scenarios on which to practice.
